What We Do

CEP serves as a research and policy hub for South Carolina, making information about the best and most current educational research and evidence-based practices more widely available and easily accessible to schools and other practitioners, parents, communities, and policy makers through its website and events held throughout the year.

Featured CEP Project: South Carolina School Climate Profiles

In collaboration with the SC Education Oversight Committee and the SC Department of Education (SCDE), the SC Educational Policy Center (SCEPC) creates and updates four-year school climate profiles for South Carolina’s Palmetto Priority schools and provides technical assistance to both SCDE and school district staff on interpreting the profiles and identifying appropriate strategies for improvement. SCEPC  plans to expand the number of low-performing schools served by this project during the coming year.
